Civil servants warned against ‘bias and inequality’

Ireland’s civil service chiefs were warned today that discrimination and inequality in their departments was ‘‘wrong, against the law and a waste of human potential’’.

Finance minister Charlie McCreevy launched a new policy calling on government departments to recruit staff from right across the social spectrum.
