The Orange Order in Portadown, Co Armagh, has issued a statement unreservedly condemning Sunday’s attack on police preventing Orangemen from marching down the nationalist Garvaghy Road.

David Burrows, the deputy district master of the Orange Order in Portadown, said the violence had undermined the organisation’s work over the past year.
