O’Donoghue says Govt cannot overturn TV rights deal

Sports Minister John O’Donoghue has dismissed suggestions that the Government has the power to overturn the deal which saw the television rights to Irish home football internationals sold to Sky Sports.

Mr O’Donoghue met with officials from the Football Association of Ireland this afternoon to discuss the sale, which has caused outrage among soccer fans.
