Sikorsky disappointed by cancellation of order

The Sikorsky aircraft corporation says it is disappointed by the Irish Army’s decision to cancel its order of helicopters.

It follows an announcement by the Department of defence that it will have to cut back on expenditure.

Sikorsky says it is surprised by decision and that it means the Irish Air Corps will not have the most up to date search and rescue helicopters.
