US stage big thank-you party in Dublin
The American government will stage one of its biggest parties on foreign soil tomorrow night to signal its gratitude for Irish support after September 11 terrorist attacks on Washington and New York.
Ireland stopped work nationwide to stage a day of mourning following last year’s incidents and the Americans plan to say thanks with a special July 4 Independence Day celebration at the official residence in Dublin’s Phoenix Park of the US ambassador to Ireland, Richard Egan.
