BTSB Chief Executive steps down after out-of-court settlement
The Chief Executive of the Blood Transfusion Board is stepping down and says the forthcoming tribunal into the Hepatitis C scandal will vindicate his name.
Martin Hynes today reached an out of court settlement with the BTSB earlier today, reported to be in the region of €300,000.
He will leave his job in October, and will have his legal costs and pension paid.
Speaking outside the Court Mr Hynes said he is eager for the Tribunal to get underway.
"I am not going to prejudge that Inquiry or the course it will take, but I am very happy it is taking place.
"The terms of reference will come up very shortly and it will be interesting when people see them. I wish that well and I wish everyone involved in it success."
