New survey shows chemists to be expensive

A new survey on toiletry items has found that they are roughly 12% more expensive in pharmacies than supermarkets.

The survey was carried out by Retail Intelligence, part of a retail magazine.

A shopping basket of typical products was €100 more expensive at Crowleys pharmacies than at Dunnes Stores.

The Director of Consumer Affairs Carmel Foley has said that customers can now decide from the survey were to shop.

She insisted that customers could now “vote with their feet”.
