Dublin hospital review is significant, say experts
One of Ireland's biggest hospitals is ready to have an independent probe over the practices of sterilising surgical instruments.
The move comes after equipment used for thousands of patients for operations at Saint James' hospital were not properly sterilised for nearly a year.
The Dublin hospital had previously had an external expert look at the problem of sterilisation and this resulted in a damning report. However, this report was never published.
Irish health experts are claiming the move by St. James' hospital to have an independent review is very important. Fergal Bowers from Irish Health.Com maintains the action is very positive.
