Ex-girlfriend of Gilligan returns home

An ex-girlfriend of convicted drugs Baron John Gilligan, Carol Rooney, has returned home after been sent to Australia by Mr Gilligan.

Ms Gilligan met John Gilligan in 1995 and stayed close to the gang leader before, during and after the murder of journalist Veronica Guerin.

In a Sunday paper today, Ms Rooney reveals all about the lead up to Guerin's murder. She says she was also there when Gilligan discovered that the journalist had been killed.
