Text voting in cinemas a reality
Voting at live concerts and films in cinemas could soon be a reality in Ireland.
Irish gig-goers will be able to send texts to a digital screen during a concert.
The Northern Ireland based company Aepona has devised technology to help customers in cinemas and concerts become interactive with text messaging.
A representative working on the project says it is a distinct possibility that it could happen in Ireland soon.
The aspiration for the platform is that it will change cinemas into interactive centres in the same way that interactivity has expanded the possibilities for television audiences.
The company Aepona employs almost 130 people in Ireland at its headquarters in Belfast and offices in Dublin.
