NI police seize counterfeit clothes

Police in the North have seized a consignment of counterfeit designer and sporting clothes believed to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The fakes were discovered on Thursday in warehouses in the docks area of Belfast. A number of people were arrested and have since been released pending further inquiries.

The clothes included Ireland, Rangers and Celtic football strips, as well as sporting and leisure clothes bearing the names of several leading brands.

Bags of Tommy Hilfiger, Ellesse and Kickers labels ready to be sewn into the clothes were also found.
