Jury retires in Cork murder case

A Central Criminal Court jury has retired to consider its verdict in the case of two men accused of murdering a Cork man two years ago.

Mr Keith O’Donovan (aged 29) of Spriggs Road, Gurranabraher, Cork and Mr James Hourigan (aged 32) of Harbour View Road, Knocknaheeny, Cork have both denied the murder of Mr Noel McCarthy (aged 28) on May 4, 2000 at his home at Spriggs Road, Cork.

The court has heard that the victim was stabbed to death in the hallway of his home after a drink-fuelled argument.
