Cowen defends Ahern's 'whingers' comment

The Minister for Foreign Affairs has defended comments made by the Taoiseach about campaigners for a No vote in the referendum on the Nice Treaty.

Speaking at the European Union summit in Seville on Saturday, Bertie Ahern referred to the anti-Nice Treaty campaigners as "whingers".
