Motorsport Commission to discuss rally deaths

The Motorsport Commission is to meet today to discuss the accident at the Donegal Rally on Friday in which two 22-year-old race marshals were killed and three other men were injured.

The Motorsport Commission is to meet today to discuss the accident at the Donegal Rally on Friday in which two 22-year-old race marshals were killed and three other men were injured.

George Clarke from Moville, Co Donegal, and Gerard McKenna from Crossmaglen, Co Antrim were killed when a car taking part in the rally ploughed into a group of spectators after it leaped a humpback bridge near Cloghan.

One of the three men injured in the accident remains in Letterkenny General Hospital receiving treatment for the wounds he received.
