Cox urges EU nations to stay out of Nice debate

European Parliament president Pat Cox has urged other European Union countries to stay out of the debate on the Nice Treaty in Ireland.

Mr Cox said interference from other nations could hamper the Government’s efforts to overturn the result of the first Nice referendum last year, when 54% of voters rejected the treaty.
