Man stabbed to death in Cork

A man in his twenties has been stabbed to death in Cork city.

The attack happened at Tower Street in the inner city at around 5pm.

The victim was taken to the South Infirmary Hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly after 6pm.

Gardai are following a definite line of inquiry. The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the State Pathologist's office has been contacted.
