Three Irish fans arrested at Saudi clash

Three Irish men were arrested by police in Japan at Yokohama Stadium yesterday, as they tried to gain entry to the Saudi clash without tickets.

Security staff at the stadium saw two of the men climbing a parapet near the venue ahead of kick-off.

The third was stopped at the gates when he tried to use a ticket for the June 9 Japan-Russia game.

The men, who were not carrying their passports at the time, were identified by their credit cards. The three are being held at the police department in Yokohama, 25km outside Tokyo.
