A row has erupted among Presbyterians in the North over the church’s decision to invite the Sinn Fein Lord Mayor of Belfast, Alec Maskey, to its annual assembly this evening.

A row has erupted among Presbyterians in the North over the church’s decision to invite the Sinn Fein Lord Mayor of Belfast, Alec Maskey, to its annual assembly this evening.

The invitation automatically goes out to whoever is Lord Mayor, but some Presbyterians have objected this year as Mr Maskey is the first ever republican to hold the position.
