Rescuers searching for two missing teenagers on the Limerick-Clare border have recovered a body from the River Shannon.

Rescuers searching for two missing teenagers on the Limerick-Clare border have recovered a body from the River Shannon.

The 16-year-old boy and girl were swept into the river at the tailrace near the Ardnacrusha power station at Parteen yesterday evening.

The girl is believed to have fallen into the water before the boy jumped in to rescue her.

The pair, from Moyross in Limerick, had just began their Junior Cert exams on Wednesday.
