Fire put out at Buckingham Palacee

A fire which broke out at Buckingham Palace is reported to have been put out.

The fire is believed to have started in a corridor between the ballroom and the State Rooms.

Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the West Terrace for over an hour.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said he could not comment on the cause of the fire.

Dozens of stars including Ozzy Osbourne and the Corrs were at the Palace taking part in preparations for tomorrow's Queen's Jubilee pop concert.

No members of the British Royal Family were present - and the concert will probably go ahead as planned, organisers said.
