The 26-year-old man murdered in Dublin on Wednesday night died from gunshot wounds to the heart and the hip, according to the results of a post mortem.

Derek Lodge was working in a portable cabin outside his parent’s home in Drinmagh when he was shot dead.

No one has been arrested in connection with the killing. Gardai are unsure of the motive, but said they do not suspect any link to drugs or gangland activity.
