Exit polls show strong support for Fianna Fail

Counting is underway in the country’s 32 count centres. Exit polls indicate a strong performance by Fianna Fail, Labour and the Greens with Fine Gael support down.

Michael Noonan’s party received its first blow in the early hours of this morning, with Dublin North TD Nora Owen losing her seat. Tally results are expected across the country by mid-morning.
