GRA's Stone says protest story must still be told
Garda Representative Association general secretary PJ Stone has told the Association conference that the full story about the violence at a street protest in Dublin last week has not been told.
At least 12 protestors were injured by baton-wielding gardaí on Dame Street and one garda has since been reassigned to desk duty pending the outcome of an inquiry into the matter.
Mr Stone called for garda cameras to be provided at all future demonstrations.
“It is now important I think in relation to any large policing event that we actually have our own cameras there," said Mr Stone.
