Police fire on rioters in Belfast

Officers fired plastic baton rounds during serious overnight rioting in Belfast, police said today.

Police came under fire and petrol bombs were thrown after “serious disorder” erupted in the Thistle Court area in the east of the city, a spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.
