Former Fine Gael leader John Bruton described the results of the poll showing Fianna Fáil close to an overall majority as a wake-up call for the opposition and his party in particular.

Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, Mr Bruton said anybody who does not want a one-party Fianna Fail Government should ensure that they campaign and vote against the party.
