FG pledges to 'reclaim Ireland's streets'

Fine Gael has promised to introduce mandatory minimum sentences for street assaults if it is elected to power on May 17.

The party’s justice spokesman, Alan Shatter, claimed that young thugs are roaming Ireland’s streets without fear of being punished and he promised to "reclaim the streets" if Fine Gael forms part of the next Government.
