Solicitors say Magill allegations against Harney are untrue

Mary Harney is planning to take legal action against Magill magazine over allegations the Flood Tribunal wanted her to disclose all her finances.

But according to solicitors acting for the Progressive Democrats leader, the Flood Tribunal has not made such an order against Mary Harney.

Magill magazine had alleged that the Flood Tribunal ordered Ms Harney to disclose all her finances, sources of income and bank accounts for the past 20 years.

According to an article in the magazine, the order covered all payments and donations she received as a County Councillor, but this afternoon, Ms Harney’s solicitors said the Flood Tribunal has not made any such order.

Earlier today, the PD leader announced plans to take legal action because of the "defamatory" article.
