Farmers to meet with Glanbia to resolve dispute

Farmers are to meet with dairy company, Glanbia, this afternoon in a further attempt to end a dispute which disrupted milk supplies to Dublin.

The Fresh Milk Producers Group met last night to discuss what action to take in their row with Glanbia over milk prices.

The group blocked milk supplies to Dublin on Monday.

Group vice chairman, Dermot Lally, says the mood is still one of anger.

“We were left in no doubt that there were many angry farmers on the ground. There was no official word on the meeting, no letters sent out and they let us know in no uncertain terms that Glanbia had handled this very badly.

"It was put to us that we were to go back to Glanbia management and tell them that all offers were off the table.”
