It is understood a recovery truck pulled the machine from the wall at the Delmac Garage on O’Brien Road in the town.

No alarm went off and gardai were informed by passing motorists that the ATM was gone.

The truck and a white Mitsubishi car, believed to be involved in the raid, were discovered shortly afterwards near Castledermot. Gardaí are still seeking a white Subaru in connection with the raid.

The ATM was also found but it is not clear yet how much money was taken.
