Poll shows poor support for Cooper-Flynn
A new poll shows that Mayo Fianna Fail deputy, Beverly Cooper Flynn, has a tough battle on her hands to retain her seat.
The MRBI poll in the five-seat constituency was commissioned by Midwest Radio and The Western People newspaper.
The poll shows that the three sitting TDs in Co Mayo are likely to be comfortably returned to the 29th Dail.
They are Fine Gael's Michael Ring - topping the poll at 19%, followed one point behind by colleague, Jim Higgins, and one point further behind again is FF Junior Minister, Tom Moffat.
The battle is on for the final two seats with FG’s Enda Kenny at 10%, FF senator Frank Chambers on 8% and FF County Councillor John Carty on 7%. Beverly Cooper Flynn is also on 7% with Independent candidate, Dr Jerry Cowley, on 6%.
