Gardaí appeal for witnesses to murder
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to last night’s murder of a man in Clondalkin in Co Dublin.
One gunman shot Maurice Ward, aged 56, in the chest at his home on Greenford Avenue at 10.30pm and fled the scene with an accomplice in a waiting car.
Mr Ward was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
Detective Inspector Todd O’Loughlin of Ronanstown Garda station, says somebody may well have seen something which could help the investigation.
“We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the Greenford Estate, or Liffey Valley or perhaps patrons going into the Dead Man’s Inn about 10.30pm last night to contact Gardai at 01-6667712,” he said.
