Farm incomes rose 16% in 2001 - report

Farmers incomes grew by an average of 16% last year, according to figures released today by the Department of Agriculture, according to the department’s 2001 annual review and outlook, which was only published today.

The review shows overall growth of 5% in the farming sector, despite the effects of foot and mouth disease and the ongoing BSE situation.
