The Sinn Fein President, Gerry Adams, says that newspaper reports suggesting the IRA attempted to buy arms when they were supposed to be disarming are ‘absolute nonsense’.

A newspaper article had alleged that the IRA had attempted to buy weapons from Russia after it had announced a ceasefire and committed itself to decommissioning its weapons.
