Soldier's remains due home on Sunday

The remains of Army Private Peadar O'Flaithearta are expected to arrive in Galway airport at lunchtime on Sunday.

The remains of Army Private Peadar O'Flaithearta are expected to arrive in Galway airport at lunchtime on Sunday.

The 21-year-old soldier from Connemara died following a tragic accident in East Timor last Tuesday.

Mr O'Flaithearta, who was part of the UN's transitional administration force, was killed following an accidental shooting.

His body will be taken to Galway University Hospital before moving on to the family home at Lettermore in the west of the county.
