Young man dies after beating in Dublin
A man has died after a serious beating North Dublin's Portmarnock.
The 21-year-old was beaten up after a row broke out in a car park of the local Naomh Mearnog GAA club. The man was at a 21st birthday which was taking place in the club.
The injured man was taken to Beaumont hospital but later died. Gardai are unsure what started the fight.
The area around the GAA club has been sealed off for technical examination and the state pathologist will carry out a post mortem later today.
Gardai have arrested a 22-year-old in relation to the fatal row. He’s been held under section four of the Criminal Justice Act at Malahide road.
