EU warns Ireland on animal cruelty

Ireland is being warned that it must update its legislation controlling cruelty to animals.

The European Union’s Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstroem says Ireland must take urgent steps to bring what she calls 'our nineteenth century legislation' into line with EU rules on animal experiments.
