Women stage treetop Israeli protest in Dublin

Two women staged a treetop demonstration in Dublin today over Israeli attacks on the headquarters of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat Ramallah compound.

The pair - both members of Ireland’s Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, and friends of Caoimhe Butterly - one of the Cork women currently trapped in a Mideast trouble zone - climbed a tree in the grounds of the Israeli embassy in Dublin’s Ballsbridge to make their protest.

They began the demonstration yesterday and said they would stay in position until the Israeli government took action that would lessen the risk to Ms Butterly’s life.
