'Go-slow' protest over Co Mayo road network
A major protest rally is set to get underway this afternoon in Ballina in Co Mayo to highlight the state of the roads serving the county.
Up to 1,000 commercial, private and agricultural vehicles have gathered to take part in a ‘go-slow’ protest.
They are angry over the condition of the main motorways servicing Co Mayo, particularly the N26, the N5 and the N29.
The groups are currently on their way to the town and will congregate just outside the town on the main Killala road at 4:00pm from where they will make a statement voicing their anger over the Co Mayo roads.
