Adams may not attend US committee
Sinn Fein’s Gerry Adams has given indications that he may not appear before the US congressional committee investigating links between republicans and Colombian militants.
Mr Adams admits that he did receive an invitation to go to the committee appearance but has been advised to stay away. He claims that there are more pressing issues here with election campaigns underway.
Three republicans, James Monaghan, Martin McCauley and Niall Connolly remain in a Colombian prison following their arrest last August.
