Kidney group seeks review of organ donation procedures

The Irish Kidney Association has called on the Government and medical professionals to initiate a review of organ donation procedures.

Last year, 123 people had kidney transplants, but the waiting list for the operations currently runs to 200 patients.

To mark the beginning of Organ Donation Awareness Week, the Irish Kidney Association appealed to people to carry a donor card.
