Former High Court Judge passes away
The former High Court Judge, Mr Rory O’Hanlon has died following a short illness.
Mr O’Hanlon would have been 79-years-old next month but he passed away this evening in Blackrock Clinic in Dublin.
Mr O’Hanlon was a life-long campaigner for the right to life of the unborn and was also firmly anti-divorce.
His career, which spanned nearly 60 years, had its fair share of controversy and the Albert Reynolds Government removed him from one post when he said he was against staying within the EU if it meant legalising abortion.
The former judge is survived by his second wife, Barbara and 12 children; he was educated at Colaiste Mhuire and University Dublin.
