SIPTU and the Irish Nurses Organisation have agreed to suspend their work-to-rule protest in accident and emergency departments after accepting Labour Relations Commission proposals aimed at ending A&E overcrowding.

The protest will be lifted tomorrow morning, but nurses have threatened to reinstate the action if the proposals are not implemented.
