Wexford plant facing 360 job losses
Fine Gael Leader, Michael Noonan, today met with union representatives of the Wexford Electronix plant, which faces closure with the loss of 360 jobs.
Mr Noonan heard concerns about the low levels of statutory redundancy and expressed his hopes that the plant could be purchased by the State for use as an enterprise park in the unemployment blackspot of Wexford town.
Mr Noonan said he was concerned at reports that the receiver had so far heard nothing from the IDA, Enterprise Ireland or the Department of the Enterprise Trade and Employment. He said that he would be raising the issue with Tanaiste, Mary Harney TD.
