Figures show further rise in mobile phone usage

Almost four-fifths of Irish people own mobile phones, according to figures released by the telecommunications regulator today.

The figures show that there were 2.9 million mobile phone subscribers in Ireland at the end of last year, a rise of 4% on the figures for the previous quarter.
