Ahern moves against united Ireland poll

The Taoiseach has indicated he believes that holding a border poll on a united Ireland in the North next year is premature.

Delivering the prestigious Heckye lecture in Chicago, Bertie Ahern said such a poll could polarise the situation in the North.
