Referendum: Majority in favour so far

The tally of the abortion referendum has been confirmed as 57% so far in favour of the Yes vote.

The results of the Abortion Referendum yesterday have been confirmed as 57% in favour of the Yes vote. But after four hours of counting it would appear that urban areas throughout the State have rejected the constitutional amendment by as much as 60%.

However eight of the first ten constituencies declared have backed the amendment.
