Voting slow in abortion referendum
Voting in the abortion referendum is reported to be very slow. In some areas around the country, the turnout is as low as 10%.
All the political parties are urging the electorate to go out and vote, be it Yes or No. In Donegal, only around 13% of the electorate have gone to the polling stations. In Waterford, it’s between 20 and 25% which, while higher, is still very low according to returning officers.
