ASTI withdrawal to go ahead today
The Association of Secondary Teachers is to go ahead with its planned withdrawal from supervision and substitution duties today.
The secondary school teachers are taking the action as part of their long-running campaign for a 30% pay rise.
The Government has insisted that its hired replacements will be able to cover the duties of the teachers and that no schools will have to close as a result of the action.
The ASTI has asked its members not to obstruct the implementation of the contingency plans.
