The Vatican supports abortion law amendment

The Vatican has today pledged his support to the Government’s bid to amend the country's anti-abortion laws in the constitutional referendum.

Catholic Church leader, Cardinal Desmond Connell, is reading a message at Dublin masses reporting that the Irish bishops' backing of the proposed amendment had been fully endorsed by the Vatican.
