Competition watchdog probes oil firms in West

The Competition Authority has confirmed that it is investigating allegations of price-fixing at a number of home heating oil firms in Galway and Mayo.

In a statement released today, the authority said it has conducted searches at a number of companies in the last two weeks under the Competition Acts of 1991 and 1996.
